(NSFW) Burbank USD Partners with Trans Activists to Run Elementary School Childcare Program
Dear Parents,
In 2021, Burbank Unified School District contracted out after-school childcare to the Burbank YMCA. The Burbank YMCA has a new Social Impact Center where art classes appear to be taught by an artist Blake Rodriguez, who created this:
That child in the photo is named “FUCK BOY” and he appears to be holding a condom in a wrapper, and the subtitle is, “He’ll be your friend till the end!”
This Burbank YMCA art teacher also appears to have created the artwork titled “TUBBY TITTIE$”
We don’t know what this one is called, but it appears to be Teletubbies watching pixellated pornography:
This artist appears to have been teaching at the Burbank YMCA Social Impact Center since its opening, and his artwork is hanging on the walls throughout the center. It appears that his husband is Rob Rodriguez, who is the Burbank YMCA’s Director of Marketing and Social Responsibility. His Instagram is available for public viewing, and at the time of this article, includes semi-nude photos of himself that we are not sure if Substack would allow us to repost here.
This Social Impact Center states that it is designed for ALL AGES, but it primarily targets middle school and high school youth.
The information about art classes being taught by someone who created a work of art about a “FUCK BOY” was known to the community since this Federalist expose, which we encourage you all to read:
Despite that, Burbank Unified School District has soldiered on with its partnership with the YMCA for its before-school and after-school childcare:
The Social Impact Center at the Burbank YMCA has many activities in there that are deeply concerning. This includes promoting the Gender Unicorn:
The Burbank YMCA Social Impact Center also distributes free breast binders for female children, even though breast binders are medical devices with known negative consequences such as fractured ribs, breathing difficulty, rashes and yeast infections under the breasts, and more. Breast binders often act as a first step to a change in gender identity.
The Social Impact Center also offers things like sex education, sexually transmitted diseases referral services, mental health services via social work interns (are parents informed that mental health services are provided? Keep in mind that in the state of California, children ages 12 and older can consent to their own mental health services), gender identification, and more:
Why did Burbank Unified School District contract with a sex-education and gender identity-education organization for its elementary school childcare program?
Burbank Unified also refers parents and children to the Burbank YMCA Social Impact Center on their website:
The Burbank YMCA Social Impact Center appears to have done presentations throughout BUSD, and their instagram page appears to include a reference to a presentation at John Muir Middle School.
You can see in this Instagram post that is labeled as having occurred at John Muir Middle School. It appears that the December 2021 calendar is on the school desk, as well as a flyer about services provided. These handouts include information about an art workshop with the artist who created “Fuck Boy,” as well as sessions titled Trans Excellence Academy, Drag Queen Storytime, and more.
To be clear, the parents and contributors who create this substack have no issue with freedom of speech, freedom of expression, or artistic expression. We also do not care what people do in their personal lives. We would not have any of these concerns if these people worked with adults. That said, when you work with children, there has to be a degree of professionalism and boundaries, particularly sexual boundaries, related to the information children have access to about you. The fact that this is going on, and that a school district like Burbank Unified is referring children to this center, highlights the erosion of basic safeguarding practices. Perhaps an artist who showcases what could be described as pedophilia shock art shouldn’t be highlighted as a role model in a center for vulnerable youth. Maybe a director of a children’s center should not be posting semi-nude provocative photos of himself on a public Instagram. If they want to work with adults, that’s fine. But with children, it is different – or at least it used to be.
We are concerned that everything branded as “LGBTQIA” is automatically considered good for children. For example, maybe a children’s center that specializes in encouraging discussions about sexuality and safe sex practices should not be open to people of all ages. Do you want your 12 year old discussing their sexuality with a 24 year old? Why is Burbank Unified School District allowing an organization that allows these practices on its site to run its elementary school after-school center?
